Barcelona‘s sporting director, Deku, announced at the club’s recent general meeting on September 19 that an agreement has been reached to extend the contract of team captain Raphinha. He also confirmed that new contracts will be signed with Marc Bernal and Xavi Esparta.

The 29-year-old Raphinha is set to sign a deal running until 2030, extending his previous contract by two years.

Hansi Flick also confirmed the new agreement with Raphinha, stating: “Yes! I am delighted about the contract extension with Raphinha; it is the best decision the club could have made. He is the best captain one could wish for.”
