AC Milan Cuts Rafael Leão’s Transfer Price to Record Low
AC Milan is actively seeking to sell Rafael Leão before the transfer window closes, significantly lowering the asking price for their former star forward.
Earlier this summer, the Rossoneri aimed to offload Leão for €60 million. However, by mid-August, the valuation of the Portuguese winger dropped to €40 million.
This shift was influenced by the decision of head coach Rúben Amorim, who has opted not to include Leão in his new project.
Amorim’s stance is based not only on technical and tactical factors but also on the belief that Leão’s playing style does not fully align with his vision. This is particularly relevant given Leão’s tendency to drift wide, whereas the Portuguese coach’s philosophy demands greater mobility within tight spaces.
Previously, Leão declined a move to Galatasaray. Nevertheless, the reduced price tag of €40 million could attract major European clubs, including Barcelona.
At one point, Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in signing Leão, but two years ago AC Milan had valued their star as high as €125 million.
