Strasbourg Football Club has officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Philipp Jørgensen from Chelsea. The player will join the French side on loan for the 2025/26 season.
Jørgensen’s arrival marks the end of Strasbourg’s search for a new goalkeeper, a position that had been vacant since the end of last season when the loan of Mike Penders from Chelsea expired.
According to L’Équipe, Jørgensen had been in France since Thursday awaiting the completion of the transfer. However, the deal was delayed due to administrative issues. Now that these have been resolved and Jørgensen has officially signed, he is eligible to feature in Strasbourg’s final friendly match on Saturday against Newcastle.
It is also worth noting that a decision regarding another Chelsea player, winger Mykhailo Mudryk, has yet to be made. The Ukrainian could also move to Strasbourg on loan, but he reportedly wishes to remain in the Premier League.
