Valentin Barco, the 22-year-old versatile player and World Cup runner-up with Argentina, continues his rapid rise. Capable of playing both on the wing and in midfield, Barco has officially joined Chelsea, signing a seven-year contract that runs until 2033.
A product of Boca Juniors, Barco featured in 58 matches for French side Strasbourg before making the move to England. This transfer follows a familiar path within the BlueCo ownership group. Although the transfer fee has not been disclosed, Strasbourg expect a significant profit, having acquired the player for €10 million in the summer of 2025. After a brief break, the Argentine will link up with Javi Alonso’s squad.
