Yesterday, on September 26, in the opening round of the UEFA Nations League, Spain secured a 3-2 victory over England at Wembley Stadium. Despite the loss, the English team achieved a notable milestone.

According to OptaJose, England became the first team in eight years to score twice against Spain within the first half of an official match.

Interestingly, the last team to accomplish this feat was also England, and it happened in the Nations League as well. On that occasion, however, the English side emerged victorious with a 3-2 win at the Benito Villamarín Stadium in Seville, unlike yesterday’s result.
