Enzo Maresca Urges Caution Despite Manchester City’s Strong Start

Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has urged caution despite the team’s strong start to the season. Following a commanding 5-0 victory over Norwich in the League Cup, Maresca reminded that pressure at the club can escalate quickly if results falter.

“I am very pleased. I mentioned at my first press conference that being at this club is a privilege, and working here after a legend like Pep is an even greater privilege,” Maresca said.

The coach is fully aware of the high expectations at Manchester City. “I know that if I don’t win, it’s a disaster, and that’s normal. But I don’t spend my day thinking about who was here before me or how many years they worked,” he added.

“I’m here to focus on what we can improve, to develop the team, and to try to win matches. I’m very happy with these five or six consecutive wins, but right now the priority is the next game. I’m not thinking about the fact that we’ve won six matches in a row because those games are already over,” Maresca concluded.
