Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has urged his club to complete signings as soon as possible. Rumors suggest that City are close to acquiring Lille midfielder Ayoub El Kaabi. While Maresca declined to comment on the transfer speculation, he acknowledged that the squad requires strengthening.
“The sooner they arrive, the better, and that applies to any new signing or player,” Maresca told Sky Sports. “We start the Premier League season in a week, so the earlier they begin working with us, the better it will be. That way, they can understand our style of play. We clearly know what needs to be done, and we definitely plan to make moves before the transfer window closes.”
This statement came in the wake of Manchester City’s heavy 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Community Shield yesterday, along with Maresca’s comments on the need to improve the team’s performance.
