Transfer Breakdown: Why Eduard Sarapiy’s Move to Bologna Fell Through
Eduard Sarapiy‘s transfer from Polissya to Bologna fell through due to specific details in the proposed agreement. This was revealed in an interview with the vice-president of the Zhytomyr club, Alexander Khatskevich, and further clarified by other sources.
The issue centered around the terms offered by the Italian side. Bologna proposed a one-year loan for the 27-year-old defender at a cost of 1 million euros. Following that, there was an option to buy for 7 million euros, but it would only be triggered if Sarapiy played a certain number of matches in the 2026/27 season.
“It was precisely this clause that did not satisfy Polissya, as it provided no guarantee that the transfer would be completed, and both the Ukrainian club and the player would risk losing time in a state of uncertainty,” reported the sources.
