Italy secured a 4-1 victory over Turkey in their UEFA Nations League clash, with brothers Sebastiano and Francesco Esposito both starting the match together.

Throughout the history of the Italian national team, only three pairs of brothers have ever played simultaneously. The most renowned among them are the Inzaghi brothers, Filippo and Simone. Interestingly, despite common misconceptions, Roberto and Dino Baggio were not brothers.

However, it has been over a century since two brothers started a match together for Italy. The last time was in 1915 when Aldo and Luigi Cevenini both took the field from the kickoff against Switzerland—and both even scored goals. This time, only Francesco Esposito found the net, sealing the win in a memorable game for the Azzurri.
