The career of 19-year-old Yan Virgili is advancing rapidly. The Barcelona academy graduate is transferring from Mallorca to Club Brugge for a fee of 12 million euros.

Last summer, the winger decided to pursue his future away from Camp Nou. However, Barcelona retained 40% of his rights and will now receive 4.8 million euros from the deal.

Virgili was sold to Mallorca last summer for 3.5 million euros. During his season on the island, he made 31 appearances and scored 3 goals.

Often compared to Jamal, many expected Barcelona to exercise a buy-back option. Yet the club chose not to bring back a player who showed little interest in returning to the Blaugrana colors.
