Former Shakhtar midfielder Jadson has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence against his partner. The 42-year-old ex-footballer was detained by Brazilian police in the city of Cambé.
The woman alleges that Jadson grabbed her by the neck with both hands and attempted to strangle her, leaving visible marks. She also claimed that this was not the first time the Brazilian had used physical force against her.
According to Globo Esporte, the former Shakhtar player has been formally charged with causing bodily harm. Following the charges, he was taken to a detention center in Cambé.
Jadson played for Shakhtar from 2005 to 2012. During his time with the Donetsk club, he won the 2008/09 UEFA Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final against Werder Bremen. He ended his football career in 2022 after playing for Brazilian club Vitória.
