Fred, the Brazilian midfielder, has left Fenerbahce to continue his career back home with Atletico Mineiro, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer was finalized today through negotiations between Fred’s agent, Marcelo Pettinati, and Atletico’s CEO Paulo Bracks. Fenerbahce will receive a transfer fee of 2 million euros, with an additional 500,000 euros in potential bonuses.
Fred joined the Turkish side in the summer of 2023, moving for 9.74 million euros from Manchester United. During last season, he featured in 45 matches, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
It is worth recalling that Fred played for Shakhtar Donetsk from 2013 to 2018. In 2018, he transferred to Manchester United for 59 million euros, marking the second-highest transfer fee received by Shakhtar after the sale of Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea for over 100 million euros combined.
