Alejandro Grimaldo is returning to his homeland. After three years with German club Bayer, the 30-year-old left-back will continue his career at Atlético. Although Barcelona, his youth club, also showed interest, the Madrid side proved more determined and secured the player’s signature.
According to German media, the deal is now fully finalized. All parties have reached a definitive agreement, with the transfer fee reported to be €25 million. Grimaldo is set to sign a long-term contract with the Colchoneros. The Spanish defender will soon undergo a mandatory medical examination to complete the transfer.
