Tottenham Sign Experienced Goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka on Free Transfer
Tottenham have officially completed the signing of goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka. The Slovak shot-stopper joined on a free transfer from Burnley, where he spent the previous season as the first-choice keeper. At 37 years old, Dúbravka is set to serve as backup to Antonín Kinský while Guillermo Vicario prepares to depart.
“I have loved watching Roberto De Zerbi’s teams in recent years and am fully aware of his style and vision,” Dúbravka commented on the influence the Spurs coach had on his decision to join the club.
This marks Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan-Paulus van Hecke. The North London side, which recently fought to avoid relegation from the Premier League, has added an experienced goalkeeper to their ranks. Dúbravka brings with him 162 appearances for Newcastle United and 59 caps for the Slovak national team.
