Jürgen Klopp, the former manager of Liverpool, has commented on the potential sanctions facing Manchester City. Liverpool, having been City’s main rival for years, could have been contenders for the Premier League titles in the 2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons if the championship race results were ever reconsidered.

“Of course, I’ve heard about the court’s decision, but I haven’t given it much thought. All we can do now is wait and see. I have great respect for Pep Guardiola and City’s style of play; they played fantastic football and were top-class opponents for us.

If any sanctions are imposed, I have no involvement in that; I will wait and watch.

I am far from preparing to claim a title or anything like that. I am completely satisfied with what we have achieved at Liverpool. We fought hard on the pitch. I can’t say more about this because I don’t know the details and I’m not interested in them,” said the Germany national team coach, distancing himself from the Manchester City issue.
