Hervé Renard Officially Steps Down as Tunisia Head Coach
Renowned French coach Hervé Renard has decided not to extend his tenure with the Tunisia national team. Renard took charge of the squad midway through the group stage of the World Cup, stepping in urgently after Sabri Lamouchi was dismissed following a heavy 1-5 defeat to Sweden. Although the federation initially intended to retain the experienced manager, he firmly declined the offer.
Renard faced a significant internal crisis within the team and was unable to improve their standing in the tournament. Under his leadership, Tunisia suffered two more defeats—against Japan and the Netherlands—bringing their World Cup campaign to an ignominious end. This marked the third consecutive World Cup that the French coach has managed.
