Ancelotti Confident Brazil’s Defense Can Handle Haaland Without Special Plan
Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared his expectations ahead of the Round of 16 clash against Norway. The Italian tactician emphasized that his defenders require no special instructions to contain the star striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian leader has scored five goals in the tournament so far, but Brazilian defenders Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães have frequently faced Haaland in both the Champions League and the Premier League. Ancelotti stressed his complete trust in the experience of his players.
“Everyone knows how he plays. I don’t need to explain anything to my defenders about how to mark him. They have obviously come up against him on the pitch several times. I don’t think there’s any special plan against Haaland. I don’t have to tell my players exactly how to defend,” Ancelotti stated.
