Mohamed Ouahbi: Second Half Performance Clearly Decided Match
Morocco’s head coach Mohamed Wahi responded sharply to comments made by his Canadian counterpart Jesse Marsch following their Round of 16 World Cup clash. Despite Morocco’s comprehensive 3-0 victory, the American coach still described Canada as the better team in the match. Wahi did not hold back, pointing directly to the final score and breaking down the key moments of the game.
“They showed good intensity. But to call them the better side when you lose 3-0 takes some nerve,” Wahi said. “There was that crucial save from Bounou. Their intensity in the second half remained the same, but they were less effective. The adjustments we made had an impact. We managed their pressing better and added more depth, which forced them to drop back and defend. I think the difference in the second half was clear.”
