Zlatko Dalić to Step Down as Croatia Head Coach After Nine Years
Zlatko Dalić, the head coach of the Croatian national team, is stepping down after nine years in charge. His contract expires this summer, and following Croatia’s exit at the hands of Portugal in the Round of 16 at the World Cup, the federation is already searching for his successor. According to Sportske Novosti, Slaven Bilić is the leading candidate to take over the role. Dalić, who guided Croatia to silver and bronze medals at the World Cups, has confirmed that this marks the end of a historic era as he returned home.
“I’ve just arrived back home. We will discuss everything in the coming days and make the best decision for Croatian football. This is definitely the end of an era, an era of the older generation of players,” Dalić stated.
