FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that Donald Trump will be present alongside him at the World Cup final. In an interview with the American broadcaster FOX, Infantino revealed that they will jointly present the tournament’s main trophy to the winner on July 19.
“We will watch the final together with the president and, of course, hand over the cup to the champions. We will be side by side throughout the event,” Infantino explained.
According to FIFA’s standard protocol, the trophy remains on its pedestal until the award ceremony. Trump has previously taken part in honoring Chelsea at the 2025 Club World Cup. Infantino and the American leader have maintained a friendly relationship since December, when FIFA recognized Trump’s contribution to peace with a special award.
