Didier Deschamps Leaves France Squad Ahead of Norway Match Due to Family Bereavement
French national team coach Didier Deschamps is urgently returning home following the death of his mother, the French Football Federation announced. As a result, he will be unable to conduct training sessions in the coming days and will miss Friday’s match against Norway in Boston. Assistant coach Guy Stéphan will take charge of the team in his absence.
The federation clarified, “Didier Deschamps will not be able to oversee preparations ahead of the Norway–France match and will not be present on the bench for Friday’s final game of the first team. During this extremely difficult time, we ask everyone to show the utmost tact and restraint.”
