Iran Football Federation to Complain Over US Entry Restrictions at World Cup 2026
The Iranian Football Federation is preparing to file a formal complaint with FIFA over the treatment of their national team by the organizers of the 2026 World Cup, according to a report from The Athletic.
Iran’s squad has been denied entry into the United States, where they were scheduled to train ahead of their group stage clash with Belgium. Although visas have been granted for June 20 and 21, the team is currently prohibited from being on U.S. soil or conducting any preparations there outside those dates.
Officials in Iran view this restriction as discriminatory, arguing that World Cup participants should be granted equal rights and access during the tournament period.
