Journalist Igor Tsyganyk highlights an important detail that could aid Mykhailo Mudryk in reintegrating into the Chelsea squad rather than being sent out on loan.
“Currently, Chelsea’s squad has been assembled without Mudryk. Xabi Alonso has been shaping the team without him, so it will be quite challenging for Mudryk to break into the lineup now. However, there is an interesting aspect. When Alonso was the coach of Bayer, he strongly pushed for Mudryk’s signing. The player was even with the German club and wore Bayer’s kit. He had signed a personal contract, but the clubs failed to reach an agreement,” Tsyganyk explained on his personal channel.
Nonetheless, he cautions Mudryk against expecting special treatment: professional football is a tough environment.
“There is certainly some goodwill from Alonso. But as the head coach of Chelsea, he must deliver results,” Tsyganyk concluded.
