Former FIFA president Joseph Blatter has suggested that Lisa Klaveness, head of the Norwegian Football Association, should take over the international football federation instead of Gianni Infantino.

Blatter argued that it is time for radical measures to address the issues that have accumulated under the current leadership.

“Lisa Klaveness deserves the highest respect. She has been the only one to consistently take a clear stance and not go with the flow. FIFA needs a woman to lead the organization,” Blatter wrote on the social media platform X.

Recently, it was reported that Infantino called an emergency meeting of FIFA officials in Morocco. UEFA, CONCACAF, and the AFC have expressed no confidence in the FIFA president and have begun searching for their own candidate to run for the FIFA presidency. Should Infantino remain in office, member countries of these confederations have threatened to boycott FIFA-sanctioned tournaments.
