In the early hours, during the second round of the CONCACAF Nations League, Suriname, featuring Justin Lonwijk from Dynamo, secured a 2-1 victory over Martinique.

Lonwijk came off the bench after halftime and opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a strike from outside the penalty area.

Notably, in the first round, Suriname defeated Honduras 3-2, with Lonwijk also contributing one of the goals in that match.

Suriname competes in Group B of League A in the CONCACAF Nations League alongside Honduras, Jamaica, Guatemala, Martinique, and El Salvador. After two rounds, Suriname leads the group standings with six points.
