Gurban Gurbanov, head coach of Azerbaijani club Karabakh, reflected on his team’s 0-1 defeat to Kyiv’s Dynamo in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, held in Lublin, Poland. The Karabakh manager kept his comments brief:
“There isn’t much to say. We need to focus on preparing for the return leg. We faced a team with a well-organized defense. We needed to increase our tempo, but perhaps the weather was too hot to do so—I didn’t want to push the players too hard.”
“We’ll return to Baku and have five to six days to prepare. I also want to thank our fans who traveled such a long way to support us today,” Gurbanov added.
The second leg is scheduled to take place on August 13 in Azerbaijan.
