James Trafford has completed a record-breaking transfer to Leeds United. The club has invested £40 million to secure the goalkeeper’s move from Manchester City.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper has signed a five-year contract with Leeds. This transfer fee marks a new club record and places Trafford among the highest-paid players at Leeds. More importantly, it clearly reflects Daniel Farke’s vision for the Premier League side’s key area for improvement.
Last season, Trafford featured in 17 matches for Manchester City, keeping eight clean sheets, primarily in cup competitions. Despite his promising performances, he had no opportunity to become the first-choice goalkeeper under Gianluigi Donnarumma’s arrival.
