According to reports from German media, Union Berlin is considering signing free agent David Alaba. Following a disastrous start to the season—conceding 17 goals in just four Bundesliga matches, including a heavy 0-7 defeat to Bayern Munich—the club is in search of an experienced defensive leader.
Since the transfer window is already closed, only free agents are being considered. Both Bild and Sport Bild have identified Alaba as one of the top candidates, alongside Yannick Vestergaard. The 34-year-old Austrian left Real Madrid this summer and remains unattached. This move would mark a return to the Bundesliga for Alaba, who previously made 281 appearances for Bayern Munich.
However, Sky has already denied these claims, stating that the rumors lack any foundation. According to their information, Union Berlin is not currently in talks with Alaba and has no plans to sign him. Alaba remains a free agent.
