Tottenham Hotspur have decided to retain Roberto De Zerbi as their head coach despite a disastrous start to the season. According to TEAMtalk, the club’s management fully backs the Italian and has no plans to dismiss him during the upcoming international break.
Following their defeat to Aston Villa, Spurs find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table. This marks the first time in 18 years that the club has been last after five rounds of matches. De Zerbi’s record at Tottenham stands at just four wins in 14 games, yielding a win percentage of 28.57%.
The club believes that the coach requires more time to turn things around. Tottenham made significant reinforcements over the summer, and the leadership is confident that De Zerbi remains the best candidate to guide the team out of its current crisis.
The coach himself expressed deep disappointment with his players’ performances. After the match against Villa, he admitted that in his 14 years of coaching, he had never seen a team as “fragile and unstable” as this one.
