France defender Maxence Lacroix reflected on his team’s commanding 4-1 victory over Norway at the 2026 World Cup. This win marked France’s third consecutive triumph in the tournament, securing their place in the knockout stage as group winners under Didier Deschamps.
“What does it mean? There are so many emotions, so much joy, and ultimately—a victory, which is simply fantastic. We played very well and finished top of the group. I can hardly put my feelings into words,” Lacroix said.
“We set our goals and achieved them—we performed strongly in the group stage. Now we know the journey isn’t over. We want to dream bigger and will prepare for the next match. We know we are a very good attacking team—we can score at any moment in the game,” the player added, as reported by FIFA’s official website.
Looking ahead, France will face Sweden in the round of 16.
