Yuliya Levchenko Sustains Injury, Will Miss Upcoming Competitions
Ukrainian high jumper Yuliya Levchenko has revealed to Suspilne Sport that she has sustained a significant injury and will be sidelined from competition for the foreseeable future. The injury, she explained, was domestic in nature rather than occurring during training.
“I got injured—at home, not during training,” Levchenko said. “It feels strange to get hurt outside of training, but then I remembered that most of my injuries actually happened off the track.”
She added that the injury has added an unexpected challenge to her season. “Now I need to focus on recovery and strengthening my legs. It’s a process I have to go through and allow myself time for. I’ve accepted it and am keeping a positive mindset. Life goes on.”
When asked about her future plans, Levchenko admitted uncertainty. “It’s hard to say what’s next. We’ll see how things develop. Overall, the summer season was quite good—exciting and full of events,” she reflected.
It’s worth noting that Levchenko had been entered to compete at the Continental Tour Gold meeting in Croatia.
