Real Madrid secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Schalke in their final friendly ahead of the La Liga season. The scoring opened early when Kylian Mbappé capitalized on a defensive error from the German side in the 5th minute. Midway through the first half, Dean Heisen doubled the lead with a header following a cross from Arda Güler. In the second half, Carlos Espi sealed the win with a late goal.

The Madrid squad started the match with Thibaut Courtois in goal. After the break, he was replaced by Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who made a save early in the second half. Later, in the 86th minute, another Ukrainian keeper, Illya Voloshyn, came on to replace Lunin.
