Lyon secured their place in the Champions League playoff round with a commanding 3-0 victory over Czech side Sparta Prague in the second leg. After falling 1-2 in the first match, the hosts delivered a dominant performance to overturn the deficit.
The turning point came in the 34th minute when Sparta defender Adam Sevinski was sent off, leaving the visitors a man down. Lyon capitalized quickly, with Ernest Nuamah opening the scoring shortly after. In the second half, the French side maintained full control and extended their lead through precise strikes from Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the 66th minute and Tyler Morton in the 73rd.
Lyon won the tie 4-2 on aggregate and will face Fenerbahce in the playoff round.
