Manchester City is close to securing the signing of goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from Marseille. The Olympique de Marseille shot-stopper is expected to replace James Trafford, who has been sold to Leeds United.

The 33-year-old keeper brings extensive European experience and was part of Argentina’s squad that won the 2022 World Cup. He joined Marseille from Ajax in 2023 and has since established himself as a regular starter in Ligue 1.

Rulli is renowned for his sharp reflexes and spectacular saves. However, at Manchester City, he is likely to serve as a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma.
