Hungary head coach Marco Rossi reflected on his team’s 0-1 defeat at home against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League B2 group match. The only goal of the game was scored by Daniil Sikan.
“This is football in a nutshell. You miss your own chances and end up conceding. It happens. No matter how much you analyze this match, we didn’t deserve to lose, but we did.
I have no special explanation — we created more opportunities but failed to convert any of them.
The Ukrainians scored almost from their first real chance in the first half. Before that, they only had an obvious offside and a long-range shot — I can’t recall any other threats from them throughout the first half,” lamented Marco Rossi on his team’s misfortune.
Hungary will next face Georgia, while Northern Ireland will host Ukraine in a clash between the group leaders.
