Miki Baur‘s debut for the Germany national team against Serbia lasted only a few minutes. However, his impact on German football history was monumental. The Celtic midfielder became the 1000th player to represent the Germany national team.

The 22-year-old midfielder entered the match in the 77th minute, coming on as a substitute for the scorer of the winning goal, Bishof.

Baur’s journey highlights how rapidly a football career can progress. In 2025, he joined Dynamo Dresden on loan. Just months later, he celebrated promotion to a higher division with Dynamo. His career then took him to Paderborn and subsequently to Celtic.

Now, he is not only a national team player but also the author of a unique milestone in German football history.
