Klopp Praises Germany’s Consistent High-Level Performance in 2-0 Win
Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp reflected on his first victory leading the national team after their 2-0 win over Serbia in the UEFA Nations League yesterday.
“Fantastic! I am overjoyed with the performance and how the players delivered tonight. It was top-level football from start to finish.
We started like madmen. We could have scored more, but at halftime I told the players the next goal was to keep up the same spirit. If we want to become a team capable of competing for trophies in the future, we have to maintain this level, and they did just that. They kept the intensity, the high standard, and everything else going. So it was a magnificent display.
This match is truly important for us, but we know playing away in Greece will be very tough in a packed stadium. The atmosphere will likely be electric. We will do everything we can, but no one can take away today’s game from us. Now we have a benchmark for ourselves, but there is still a long road ahead,” Klopp said in an interview with UEFA.
