Upon arriving in Trabzon, Mohamed Salah was greeted by local fans with such overwhelming enthusiasm that he was moved to tears.
“I am incredibly happy to be in this amazing atmosphere. I don’t recall ever seeing anything like this before. There are 25,000 people here — it’s unbelievable. I’ve never witnessed anything like it. I’ve achieved success wherever I’ve played, and now I want to succeed with Trabzonspor — both in the league and on the European stage,” said an emotional Salah.
The 34-year-old Egyptian joined Trabzonspor as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool. His official presentation is scheduled for today and is expected to be equally grand, which is understandable given that Salah is arguably the most high-profile player in the club’s history.
