Vincenzo Montella praised Turkey’s “incredible performance” in their 0-1 defeat against France.
“I’m proud of the team, though it’s unfortunate we couldn’t secure a positive result,” the Turkish head coach stated.
“It was an extraordinary display, one of the best in our careers, especially considering the quality of the opponent. We knew that even the slightest mistake against such teams could be costly, but I believe we had our chances and the match was very evenly contested,” Montella added.
Turkey will next face Italy at home on September 28.
