Real Madrid will play their final preseason friendly before the new campaign kicks off, facing off against German side Schalke 04.

Among the squad for this match is Ukrainian goalkeeper Ilya Voloshyn, who has earned his opportunity to feature for the first team.

The product of Dnipropetrovsk football, Voloshyn secured his chance after impressive performances in last year’s UEFA Youth League.

He traveled to Germany alongside Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin, selected as Real Madrid’s third-choice goalkeeper for Sunday’s game in Gelsenkirchen.

The 2.02-meter tall Ukrainian has rapidly climbed the ranks within the academy and was a key member of the Junior A squad that won the UEFA Youth League earlier this year.
