The supercomputer Opta has assessed the title-winning probabilities for the main favorites in Spain’s La Liga ahead of the 2026/27 season—a routine analysis it performs before every major tournament.

According to its data, Barcelona holds a 45.2% chance of clinching the championship, while Real Madrid’s odds stand at 32.3%. Atlético Madrid’s likelihood of winning the league is estimated at 8.4%. It is worth recalling that Barcelona secured the La Liga title for the second consecutive season in 2025/26, finishing with 94 points from 38 matches. Real Madrid ended the campaign in second place with 86 points.

The 2026/27 La Liga season kicks off this Saturday, August 15. In the opening round, Barcelona will host Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad at home.
