Raphinha Aims to Stay at Barcelona Until End of Career
Barcelona captain Raphinha has confirmed his desire to extend his contract with the Catalan club and finish his professional career at Camp Nou. The Brazilian winger has started the new season impressively, scoring regularly and earning the captain’s armband, which has strengthened his commitment to continue playing for the team.
Raphinha’s current deal with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2028. The club’s sporting director, Deku, has already expressed the club’s intention to secure the player’s long-term future. The player himself is also positive about the prospect of extending his contract.
“I extended my contract until 2028 with the thought that by then I would be 30 or 31 years old, and I didn’t know in what shape I would be at that age,” Raphinha revealed in an interview with RAC1.
The winger is pleased with the work under Hansi Flick and believes he can maintain his current level of performance for several more seasons. His main goal now is to continue his career at Barcelona and avoid moving to another club.
“Considering how I started this season, I understand that I have the strength for a few more years. So yes, I would be happy to extend my contract a bit and finish my career here, without going anywhere else,” Raphinha stated.
