Real Madrid has decided against holding a public presentation for José Mourinho and the summer signings. Instead, the club will host a private event for players and their families, with president Florentino Pérez in attendance.

There will be no press conferences ahead of Saturday’s opening match against Espanyol. The coaching staff and management want to fully concentrate on the game, shielding the squad and José Mourinho from unnecessary media attention.

Real Madrid will resume training on Tuesday following their rest after the victory over Schalke in the final friendly. The away fixture against Espanyol, who started their season with a 3-0 win over Levante, will serve as their first official test.
