Real Madrid to Activate Buy-Back Clause for Como Midfielder Nico Pas
Terrible news for Como as Real Madrid has changed its plans and will activate the buy-back clause for the Italian club’s star midfielder, Nico Pas. The clause in the player’s contract allows Real to repurchase him for just €9 million.
Previously, Madrid had agreed to accommodate Como by letting their key player remain for the club’s debut season in the Champions League.
However, financial constraints have intervened—Real lacks sufficient assets to fund new signings for José Mourinho. As a result, Pas will be bought back and then sold at market value.
Currently, Nico is valued at €60 million and has attracted interest from the Premier League.
On Thursday, Como will meet with Real Madrid representatives to explore any chance of retaining the player, but this appears unlikely. As the saying goes, there are no friends in football business.
