Shakhtar U19 Begin Preseason Training Under Maksym Malyshev
Shakhtar’s youth squad has returned from their break, completed their scheduled medical examinations, and on Friday, July 3, began preparations for the upcoming season under new head coach Maksym Malyshev and his coaching staff. The team will train twice daily at the Academy base throughout the month.
According to Shakhtar’s official website, the morning session opened with an activation running warm-up followed by extended aerobic relay drills. Afterwards, the “orange-and-black” players worked in small groups on a confined section of the pitch, focusing on ball control and quick movements, while the goalkeepers dedicated their time to refining reaction skills and fundamental catching techniques. The main part of the training centered on ball work and concluded with tactical exercises.
Yehor Onishchuk, defender for Shakhtar U19, shared his thoughts: “I’m very happy to be back with the team and back in training. Fortunately, I had a good rest during the break. With renewed energy, a new coach, and coaching staff, we’re diving into the work. It’s notable that everyone is training in a great mood, and it’s clear we’re setting only the highest goals, aiming to replicate last season’s achievements.”
