Two Ukrainian players advanced past the second round at the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing.

Daria Snigur caused an upset by defeating Italian Jasmine Paolini in three sets, 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-2.

Meanwhile, Dayana Yastremska secured a straight-sets victory over the 17th seed, Maia Khvalynska, with a score of 6-3, 6-1.

In the next round, Dayana will face Sinja Kraus, while Daria is set to play against Tayla Preston.
