Leclerc Tops Second Practice Session at Sepang GP Ahead of Hadjar and Norris
Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets in the second free practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, edging out Isaac Hadjar and Lando Norris.
Finishing the session, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top five at the Sepang International Circuit.
Interestingly, Leclerc’s best lap of 1:37.528 was eight thousandths of a second slower than Verstappen’s time in the first practice session. This slight drop in pace was attributed to the high air and track temperatures during the second run.
The Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, surprisingly trailed behind their rivals, settling for seventh and eighth places respectively. Their W17 cars struggled with tire degradation on the abrasive track surface, compounded by the intense heat conditions.
