Comments Off on Edin Dzeko to Play Final International Match for Bosnia Today

Edin Džeko is set to play his final match for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team today. The Balkan side will face Sweden in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.

The striker has represented his country for nearly two decades, having made his debut back in June 2007.

Key international milestones for Edin Džeko include:

– Prior to Friday’s match, Džeko had amassed 151 appearances and scored 73 goals, making him the all-time leader for Bosnia and Herzegovina in both categories. He made his first appearance in a home match against Turkey on June 2, 2007, which ended in a 3-2 victory, and he marked the occasion by scoring.

– Džeko played a pivotal role in helping Bosnia and Herzegovina qualify for their first-ever FIFA World Cup in 2014 and captained the team during their second World Cup appearance this past summer.

– With 73 international goals, Džeko ranks seventh among the top scorers in European national teams.

The kickoff for the Bosnia vs. Sweden match is scheduled for 18:45 UTC.
