Contrary to recent reports, Venezuelan defensive midfielder Andrusv Araujo is not on the radar of Donetsk’s Shakhtar Donetsk. This was confirmed by insider Igor Burbas.
“As far as I know, the Venezuelan player is not listed on either the short or long lists for Shakhtar,” Burbas wrote on his Telegram channel. “For the defensive midfield position, the reigning champions are only considering Ukrainian players or those holding European passports.”
Last season, Shakhtar’s central midfield was covered by players like Marlon Gomez and Yehor Nazaryna—neither of whom fully fit the profile of a traditional defensive midfielder.
