Ukrainian defender and midfielder Alexander Zinchenko has begun his recovery following a serious injury, but the process is expected to be slow, journalist Viktor Vatsko revealed in his personal program.
“It has been seven months since Alexander sustained his injury, and in football, cruciate ligament injuries typically cost a player about a year of their career. I don’t even expect Zinchenko to be back playing this autumn. Finding a new club isn’t a priority for him right now, as no team will sign a player with such a severe injury. His contract expired in July, and he is currently without a club. Let’s wait until winter, during the international football break, and then we can have a more detailed discussion on this matter,” Vatsko explained.
To recall, Zinchenko is 29 years old and suffered the injury while at Ajax, where he was on loan from Arsenal. However, he managed to appear in only two matches for the Dutch side before the injury occurred.
